On the Book Shelf

Books     Videos     DVDs     TV Guides     Audio     Comics

So what's on your book shelf?  It doesn't have to be books, let us know about videos, DVD's, audio tapes or any collectables that you may have.  The only proviso is that it must have a link (however tenuous) to the series.  Comments are those generally of the editors AF and MS.

Video - Sword of Sherwood Forest

Hammer Film Productions (1960).  This video released by Video Collection International  in 1991.

Awful, but in colour, only lasts 77 minutes though.  Richard Greene in the title role with Peter Cushing as the Sheriff of Nottingham and a cameo appearance by Oliver Reed.

Needs to be in the collection only because it's Richard Greene. (MS)

The Adventures of Robin Hood - The Legend, Volumes I and II

These two videos released in NTSC format for the US market from Burbank Video.  Volume I contains 'The Miser', 'Children of the Greenwood', 'The Prisoner' and 'The Youthful Menace' whilst Volume II contains 'Secret Mission', 'The Thorkil Ghost', A Year and a Day' and 'Quickness of the Hand'.

Oh dear, wonderful covers spoilt only by the misspelling of our hero's name - Green without an 'e'.  Our thanks go to Dave Blake who provided both the detail and the images.

The Adventures of Robin Hood - Box set

This collection also released in NTSC format by Marathon Music & Video.

Thank you to Dave Blake for the detail and image.

The Adventures of Robin Hood

These four great compilation videos from ITC for the UK (PAL) market, I believe were available from the early 1990's.  Note the fourth video includes an interloper (William Tell).

Once again our thanks go to Dave Blake who supplied the images.
