Patricia Driscoll trained at RADA, following which she travelled the UK with various repertory companies. It was while with one of these companies, the Manchester Rep, that she met actor Duncan Lamont. The pair were later to be married. She began her TV career in the children’s series ‘Whirligig’, before going on to become the original presenter of Monday’s Watch with Mother show ‘Picture Book’ in 1955. She had also made several other TV and film appearances before taking over the role of Maid Marian in ‘The Adventures of Robin Hood’, when Bernadette O’Farrell left the series at the end of Season 2. Despite many fans wanting Bernadette to remain in the role, Patricia soon made the part her own. She remained until the series ended, having appeared in 37 episodes. She made a few more films and guested in TV series such as ‘Danger Man’, ‘No Hiding Place’ and ‘The Good Life’. Patricia was also a regular in the mid-1970s sitcom ‘Second Time Around’. Now retired from acting, Patricia Driscoll remains the only surviving main cast member of ‘The Adventures...’.
