Born: 1915, Scotland. Died: 20th December 1959, London. Rufus Cruickshank was brought in as a temporary replacement for fellow Scot Archie Duncan in the role of Little John, while the latter was recovering from an accident on set. At 6’5” tall Rufus was ideally equipped for the part, for which he grew a red beard. He appeared in 11 episodes of season 1. Sadly Rufus Cruickshank died just 4 years after his brief stint in the series, in 1959 at the age of 44. He was cremated at Golders Green Crematorium, in North London.
